Preserving The Environment With Eco-Friendly Pools

An eco-friendly swimming pool is one that is considered to be environment friendly. A salt water pool is considered to be eco-friendly because it uses less chemicals. Normal chlorine requires that the chemical be added manually but a saltwater pool generates its own chlorine.

How does an eco-friendly swimming pool work?

A saltwater swimming pool is not really chemical free. It relies on electrolysis to expel chlorine gas from the salt. This salt is gotten from a salt generator usually installed by the pool owner. The salt generator is a machine installed in the salt water pool. It uses electrolysis to break down disintegrated into sanitizing agents used in chlorine pools. Instead of adding chlorine directly to the pool water, salt water produces its own chlorine which then blends with the pool water creating a liquid chlorine which cleans the water.

In general, saltwater pools do not use chlorine in its man-made form, as the generator will convert salt into chlorine.

Chlorine is much more expensive to purchase than salt, so using a salt water pool lowers the cost of material used for cleaning the pool.
